A fresh cup of coffee is well-known to all of us like a warm and delicious drink in the morning, but it also has numerous health benefits, in case you didn’t know. The caffeine in coffee can start your metabolism in the morning, but if you start drinking it in moderation, it can promote a healthy heart and protect you from various illnesses.
If you are trying to lose a few extra pounds and you love your morning cup of joy, you’re lucky. Adding a few simple ingredients into your routine cup of coffee will help you accelerate your metabolism, burn more calories, and melt away the stubborn fat that your body just can’t seem to get rid of! You only need some cinnamon, coconut oil, and honey! You can also add some cocoa if you’d like!
Cinnamon has numerous powerful medicinal properties and it has been used for centuries. It’s full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that help fight infections and inflammation in the body. It can also reduce blood sugar levels in the body to keep you feeling full longer, helping you in the weight loss process at the same time. Cinnamon is believed to increase blood sugar metabolism to break down sugar for energy, allowing less fatty acids to be stored in the body. There are two types of cinnamon: Cassia and Ceylon. Ceylon is known as “true cinnamon,” and is also believed to be more beneficial, so try to use it more!
Coconut oil is full of healthy fat! Most fats contain long-chain fatty acids, but coconut oil consists of medium-chain fatty acids which metabolize differently. They are sent from the digestive tract straight to the liver, where they are either used for energy right away or turned into ketone bodies, instead of being stored in the body as fat. Coconut oil is a natural thermogenic, so it means that it can increase both metabolism and energy expenditure, resulting in more efficient fat burning!
Honey definitely contains sugar, but usually, in order to digest sugar, our body uses stored vitamins and minerals that are essential for dissolving fats, reducing the number of vitamins and minerals in the body. Honey actually contains nutrients, including iron, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, zinc, and calcium, so the digestion process is balanced between the sugar and nutrients.
Honey also includes folate, niacin, riboflavin, Vitamin C and Vitamin B6. A recent research has shown that honey can increase levels of good cholesterol in the body, reducing heat stress and allowing people to lead a more active and healthy life so that they can further promote their weight loss. Try using raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized organic honey for the best results!
For this recipe you need:
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
¾ of a cup of coconut oil
½ a cup of raw honey
Get a smooth mixture by mixing all the ingredients. Then, store it in a cup and cover it.
Add 1-2 teaspoons of the prepared mixture into your coffee while it’s still hot.
Stir it well and drink! Enjoy!
